This morning, the Government of Catalonia has declared a state of emergency due to drought, given the water levels in areas such as the Ter-Llobregat system, affecting around 6 million people. In light of this situation, we want to convey how these measures impact the development of our activities.
According to local authorities, an urgent measure has been established to limit water usage. 200 liters per person per day. This decision has been made due to the concerning water supply situation in the region. with just a 16% of available reserves.
At Washnet Factory and Elefante Azul, companies belonging to Grupo Moure, we remain committed to the responsible preservation of our water resources:
- At Elefante Azul centers Significant contributions are made to water conservation at Elefante Azul centers. As reported, a domestic car wash can consume up to 400 liters of water per wash. However, at Elefante Azul car wash centers, consumption is significantly reduced depending on the chosen washing system: with pressure washing, the average is consumption decreases to 60 liters of water in pressure washing, in tunnel automatic washing it goes down to 120 liters, and in gantry washing, it amounts to 160 liters of water.
- At Washnet Factory, a company dedicated to the design, manufacture, and installation of car wash centers for Elefante Azul, as well as other clients in the carwash sector, advanced technologies and water recirculation systems are employed in their washing centers.
- Additionally, Washnet Factory also develops and offers special systems for water recirculation in vehicle washing centers.
- The constant monitoring and control system of our car wash centers allow us to assess and improve our practices regarding water consumption.
This announced measure could potentially be extended to other areas of Catalonia, as well as other Autonomous Communities, given the current situation of water scarcity. From Elefante Azul and Washnet Factory, we want to promote responsible water usage..
